Welcome from the Chief

Welcome to the Putnam County Adult Probation (PCAP) website! Our department’s Strategic Plan aligns with our vision statement, “to be recognized as the leader in the field of probation in Indiana” and reflects the Department’s overall commitment to making Putnam County the safest in Indiana. 

The increased reliance on non-penal sanctions, which is unlikely to abate, has placed probation into the vanguard of the modern justice system. This is not an overstatement.  PCAP does its part in “balancing the budget.” Each year PCAP will divert incarceration expenses that exceed the entire Putnam County General Budget.   

The success of our program and the ability to operate outside of the normal way to do business is a result of continued support from the Honorable Charles D. Bridges and the Honorable Matthew Headley.

The overall success of our department will be measured by the degree to which we maintain the trust of the public and of key stakeholders.

We are confident that, through commitment to our vision, we are charting a course that will change the lives of many and will resonate with our communities for years to come. PCAP is positioned to become a stronger, healthier, and more effective organization. We are excited about this and look forward to witnessing what we know we will accomplish together.
